What is Arran Alpacas?

Welcome to Arran Alpacas! Join us for an unforgettable, enlightening and fun treks or mini sessions with our alpacas. These super-cute teddy-like boys are sure to win your heart.

Whether visiting the Isle of Arran as a day trip, longer adventure, or staying with us here at Balmichael Glamping, we offer experiences which are brilliantly engaging and accessible-for-all. Alpaca Treks are our biggest experience lasting 90 minutes; Meet & Greet sessions at 45 mins or 1 hour are more suitable for little or older legs. We even do fun 'Alpacas Rock' sessions for kids!! All activities involve meeting our alpacas, feeding them and learning some fascinating facts. Trekkers will also explore some surrounding countryside.

Our alpacas arrived with us in March 2020 and we are loving getting to know them all.

So why not book an experience to come along to meet them yourself?!

Where we are

Arran Alpacas is perfectly positioned at the heart of the beautiful Isle of Arran. We are based at Balmichael Glamping, a 15 minute drive from Brodick along The String Road which connects the east and west of the island.

The Isle of Arran is Scotland's most accessible island and can easily be accessed from two short ferry routes, both operated by Caledonian MacBrayne. Ardrossan to Brodick is the main route with multiple sailings a day. Ardrossan is a 50 minute journey from Glasgow and has excellent rail links. Claonaig to Lochranza also runs during the summer months (end of March till the end of October).

Stay with us

Alpaca your bags and extend your stay on our magical island! Arran Alpacas is based on our rustic and sustainable glamping site which was once a thriving farm.

At Balmichael Glamping, we have self-catering accommodations (barrel pods and safari lodges) suitable for all group sizes and budgets. You can even hire a wood-fired hot tub for a day.
